Exalt was founded by John Koehler, who as a professional licensed mechanical engineer designed custom production machinery for many top companies in the U.S. including Hewlett Packard, Nike, Boeing, and Intel. John is an expert in manufacturing and a certified “Jonah” in a business system called Theory of Constraints. He has spent over twenty-five years developing a new business model for entrepreneurship. This distillery is his proof of concept demonstrating that striving to maximize wealth creation instead of profit margin provides the most value to consumers, and the greatest benefits to distributors, vendors, employees, founders, and the community, while also producing greater returns on investment for investors.
Elizabeth Loomer is responsible for our product development. Her concept oriented approach to organic chemistry drove her development of our flagship product. Her skunkworks development style, the “rocket science” laboratory approach made famous by Lockheed Martin drives our equipment and process development. Her practical orientation, evidenced by her side interest in old automobiles that led her to become a skilled auto mechanic, drives our recipe development. It may have been her interest in butanol production for auto fuel that sparked her interest in distilling. She holds an AS-T degree in Chemistry from Lower Columbia College and a PhD from practical experience. She designed a production process that works better than anything listed in the textbooks.
