We began to create not only a new small batch distillery but a new sort of business in 2011. It took us about five years to get to market with our first bottle, a velvety potato vodka with a mild sweetness. We make our spirits in a building located on five acres atop bluffs that plunge three hundred feet to banks of the Columbia River forty miles from its mouth. Craft distilling is a very new industry. There is not much equipment available for small batch distilling, and it is designed to allow vodka, gin, rum and whiskey to all be make on the same still. We designed and built all of our own equipment; we developed our own proprietary process and our own unique recipe. Our equipment is optimized to produce only one product, great vodka made from the best base, potatoes. On our journey we came up with two improvements to the pot still that though patentable remain proprietary secrets.
